The Visionary
After the thought of GloriLight was born (See Our Story), Matt pitched the idea to former small group member and friend Clay Banks (Clay’s story below).
After Clay and Matt officially founded GloriLight on September 1, 2022, Matt has been eagerly working to learn how to put a business together. His main responsibilities at GloriLight have been business development and content management.
Matt has spent most of his career in sports ministry and in different sales positions, one of which he still holds today. Matt is married and also a dad to three wonderful blessings.
The CEO
Clay is married and also a dad of two girls under the age of ten. In the spring of 2022, Matt introduced the concept of GloriLight to Clay and immediately God put a calling on Clay’s heart to bring this product to more children.
Clay, a seasoned entrepreneur, had all the connections and resources to create this product, but like most fathers like him, lacked the biblical knowledge or depth of God’s word to be able to comfort and guide his own children. Clay realized that’s a weakness he had as a father and assumed most other dads were similar. How often do you put your kids to bed and say the same prayer? “Now I lay me down to sleep….”
There is so much more to God’s Word than this, Clay thought, and a nightlight would help deepen his daughter’s knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
Clay is a volunteer and mentor at the Entrepreneurial and Innovation Center (EIC) in Williamson County Tennessee and had the idea of working with high school students on the launch of this company to bring real world application and experience to learning business fundamentals and entrepreneurship. In September of 2022, Six students were selected to be part of the business launch team for GloriLight and much of what you see today is a result of their hard work and dedication to bringing God’s Word to more children.
